Garden City is a collection of 20 short fictions. Created by the Deity of Time herself, Garden City is house to punks, folk and magic. Dig into these lives; each are beautiful but sharp, like a rose with thorns...
Welcome to Garden City
We have all walked down its streets; we are all familiar with Garden City. Sidewalks that need cleansing grey concrete streets, intersected with the occasional path of cobblestone. A neighborhood that houses punks, artists, and assorted others.
But Garden City is different. Its streets were based by The Deity of Time herself. Magic is alive in her streets and live aboard with mortals but only few cognize it. Beginning with a book of collected fiction Garden City is a handful of lives, all happening at the same time.
There are 20 fictions collected in GARDEN CITY. Each of the stories takes a look at person in Garden City and through most of it, Owen Wolfe is our guide. As a writer, he knows several absorbing folk and meets a few more. There's Kimberlee, who is claimed as a bride by a sculpture move to life. Or Nancy, a young woman who meets the Deity of the Fae in a city park.
But there are others who live in Garden City as well. There is Flower who is able to turn into a Crow after a mysterious dream. There is Alex who prolongs his life by out running the Three Fates; Edmund hillary who disappears piece on assignment for a reality TV show. A woman named Miriam disappeared on the thirteenth floor of Artificer Tower.
Garden City grew out of Dreams...
Most times, my dreams become stories. In an effort to understand them, I put them down on paper. Then I can dig into my dreams and numbers out what they are trying to tell me. The dreams grow like flowers on the page, finding a life of their own.
These dreams on paper, these moments in time, became stories. I have set all these stories in the same place without actually knowing it; it is somewhere, it is nowhere. I don't cognize whether or not it's American or Canadian. I simply cognize that it exists in my dreams.
GARDEN CITY is like a dozen of lives, all happening at the same time. Look at Garden City like a bouquet of flowers: beautiful, but with sharp thorns.
